THE MODERN MARVELs
Founded in 2016 by Kate O'Hanlon Bruns, The Modern Marvels Dance Company is a project-based contemporary dance collective that elevates the creative voices of its dancers in order to develop performance art that is honest, beautiful, and accessible to all audiences. Our work often reflects our lived experiences, bringing personal stories to light through movement in hopes of promoting individual expression and allowing others to find parts of themselves in our art.

2024 CREATIVE PROCESS
MMDC is excited to be returning to the creative process in 2024 after taking an extended pause while Artistic Director Kate O'Hanlon Bruns completed her graduate studies in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Dance/Movement Therapy.
This year, we will enter into the final phase of development for INFJ. This evening-length work explores the four components of the INFJ Myers-Briggs personality type: introversion (I), intuition (N), feeling (F), and judging (J). Each trait is embodied through a series of solos, duets, and ensemble pieces that allow audience members to step into the lived experiences of an INFJ to better understand how they experience themselves, relate to others, and interact with the world around them.
September 2018: Premiere, Links Hall (Chicago, IL)
November 2019: Dance Chicago, Athenaeum Theatre (Chicago, IL)
We anticipate touring performances of INFJ coming in Summer 2024 and Chicago presentations of the work in Fall 2024. Stay tuned for updates!
